The types of places that can positively define a city, country or an entire global region require two kinds of blueprints: one for building architecture and another for social architecture. One Bangkok is a landmark development with the potential to expedite the Thai capital’s rise in global rankings and to re-centre and reshape the city as 1.83 million square metres of urban renewal takes shape. A proactive and strategic approach to placemaking is required to understand the natural, social and cultural assets of the area and to ensure that they are reflected within a new development that respectfully stitches itself into the existing fabric of the city.

Right Angle Studio is working alongside a broader consultant team articulating a Place Activation Strategy that will help establish One Bangkok as a global exemplar of mixed-use development and positive city-making. By combining on-the-ground research with insights from our work in placemaking around the world, we can deftly balance local needs with a global perspective. Our work helps guide the great team of designers, cultural programmers and marketeers to make the most of the opportunity at hand through strategies around three key themes: Civic Spaces, Creative Capital and City Brand Building.

“Our vision is to create a place that people can love and want to spend time in, which everyone in the city will feel is an integral part of our city.”
